Her death certificate records Hattie Curtis, age 29 years 8 months 28 days, born 10 June 1884 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 12 May 1914 in Fleming Co., Ky, married, father Wm Conn, mother’s maiden name Barlow, both born in Rowan Co., Ky, cause of death tuberculosis, informant G. R. Jackson, Ringos Mills, Ky, burial in Pervis graveyard.

Her birthdate in the 1900 census was reported as May 1882, but the birthdates on that census seem to be wrong for everyone in the family.3

Her gravestone has the dates 24 June 1886 to 12 May 1914.

She was listed in the 1900 census in Rowan Co., Ky, with her father and stepmother as age 17, born May 1882. She is probably also the Hattie Conn, age 16, born June 1883, listed in Olive Hill, Carter Co., Ky, as a boarder and house servant with the family of Jasper and Catherine McFarlen (McFarland).
