His death certificate records William Maze, age 63 years 10 months 18 days, born 17 Sep 1870 in Kentucky, died 4 Aug 1934 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky, married, husband of Henrietta Maze, merchant, father James Maze, mother Barbara Myers, both born in Kentucky, cause of death coronary occlusion, informant Mr. M. G. Maze, Farmers, Ky, burial in Jones Cemetery.
The mother’s given name is incorrect, unless Sarah had a middle name of Barbara.
The date of birth is not the same as that recorded for his twin sister Mollie on her death certificate. They were both born in Sep 1869, but I am not sure whether it was the 17th or the 28th or some other day. Tentatively I am attaching more credence to the date from Mollie’s death certificate, since at least it has the correct year and the given name of their mother correct, possibly indicating that Mollie’s children kept better records.
