1920 census of Harrison Co., Ky, Oddville township, enumerated 21 Jan, lists on p. 7B, as household #154:
Elliott, Henry, 42, farmer; Mitilie, wife, 40; Engwalt, James, son, 19; Eugene, brother, 16; Elliott, May E., dau, 12; Robert, son, 7; Rubie, dau, 7/12; Hall, James, father-in-law, 72, widowed.
On this census page, all except one line has Ky in the birthplace column and U.S. in the father’s and mother’s birthplace columns, in a lighter ink than used for the other data. (The single exception has Virginia across the board in dark ink.) The marital status fields for wives and children are also in a lighter ink, being entered in dark ink only for the head of household and widows. It looks like the census taker filled out only the “non-default” fields during visitation, and left the default fields blank, then filled them in later, with the default for parental birthplace being U.S. rather than Kentucky.
