His death certificate (Vol. 53, #26308) records James William Sexton, age 70 years 8 months 11 days, widowed, born 5 March 1879 in Rowan Co., died 16 Nov 1949 in Morgan Co., father Obidah Sexton, mother’s maiden name Emily Brown, cause of death coronary disease, informant Ora Moore, Craney, Ky, burial in Hargis Cemetery.
His gravestone says James Will Sexton, 1879 - 1949. He is buried with his second wife Myrtle Perry, with the dates 1891-1948. I cannot find a record for her in the Kentucky death index.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, precinct #9 (Wagoner), lists as family #25/28:
Sexton, J. W., 40; Myrtle, 26; Obie, 20; Henry, 17; Iva, 16; Myrtle, 12; Sylva, 10; Kermit, 9; Nella, 8; Gracie, 4; Willie, 3; Lucy, 2; Emma, 69, mother.
Obie through Sylva, as well as Nella, are children of Jim’s first wife Rosa. Kermit is a son of Myrtle by her first marriage. Gracie through Lucy are children of Jim and Myrtle.

There is something wrong with this listing. A lot of the ages and genders seem to be shifted onto the wrong rows. I think the “dau, 15” is meant for Grace, the “son, 14” is meant for Willis, the “dau, 12” is meant for Lucy, and the “dau, 10” is meant for Allene. Elizabeth should be 6, and younger than Roy. Obe may be a grandson or a nephew, since Jim had a son named Obe born in 1898 by his first wife.
