When Floyd Co is mentioned in Morgan Co. records with no indication of the state, it nearly always means Floyd Co., Kentucky. But the 1860 and 1870 censuses both record Ellender as born in Virginia, so it may be that it was intended to mean Floyd Co., Virginia.
