This family may be listed twice in the 1860 census of Bath Co., Ky. Either that or there were two VERY similar families:

As household #1413:
William Staton, 54, Ky; Sarah, 45, Ky; Noah, 16, Ky; Jenetta, 12, Ky; Mary, 10, Ky; Catharine, 7, Ky.

Bath Co. birth records also show Catherine Staton born 19 Nov 1852 to William Staton & Hannah Basfort, and Catherine Staton born 19 Nov 1853 to William Staton & Sarah A. Norris. So maybe there really were two William Staton families, with sons Noah born the same year, and daughters Catherine born exactly one year apart!

1870 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Beaver precinct, enumerated 12 July, lists on pp. 1-2 as family #7:
Staten, William Sr., 71, farmer; Hannah, 56; Mary, 18; Catherine, 16. All born in Ky.

The preceding household is headed by his son William Staton, age 45 with wife Sarah age 37.
