Notes for Nancy Sexton
Birthdate is a rough estimate.
Assignment as a daughter of William Sexton and Betsy Cock is tentative, based on their having one daughter 16-25 and two daughters 10-15 in the 1820 census, and being married by 1800. Of the other possibilities, my 5G grandparents John Sexton and Elizabeth Ingram had one daughter 10-15 whom I have not yet identified, so if Nancy married at 16 it would be possible for her to be their daughter. Willam and John’s younger brother Benjamin Jr. had no daughters of the right age range in the 1820 census. Their brother Obediah is a possibility, if he had an earlier marriage before the one to Mary Davis in 1829 (he would have been about 49 at that time, so it may very well have been his second), but I have not found Obediah in any early census.
