His obituary reported:
“The funeral of Henry Davis, 82, of 2309 East 18th St., who died Thursday night after a long illness, will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Congerville Church of God with the Rev. Ora Conn and the Rev. Herschel L. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, who had suffered from a long illness, had been a resident of Muncie for 18 years, coming here from Kentucky.
Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Corilda Davis, are six sons, Hiram, Lavis, James, Dewey, and John, all of Muncie, and Alonzo Davis of Kentucky; five daughters, Mrs. Parthena Wilson of Detroit, Mrs. Mary L. Conn, Mrs. Nora McDowell, Mrs. Myrtle Huxhold, and Mrs. Corda Dance, all of Muncie; 65 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.”
