His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Stephen Wilson Caudill, age 36, residence Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, born 25 July 1882, farmer, self employed, nearest relative Birche Caudill, wife, same address.
His death certificate records Stephen Wilson Caudill, age 58 years 6 months 8 days, born 25 July 1883 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 2 Feb 1942 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Fayette Co., Ky, residence Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, married, husband of Berchie Caudill, occupation teaching, father Henry C. Caudill, mother’s maiden name Elizabeth DeBorde, both born in Kentucky, cause of death dissecting aneurism of aorta with rupture into pericardium, informant Mrs. Pruda Nickell, Morehead, Ky.
His gravestone as surveyed by the Rowan County Historical Society says that he was born on 25 July 1892 and died 2 Feb 1942. But all other records have his birthdate as 1882 or 1883. So I think the cemetery survey either has a typo or the stone was misread.

The Alex Patton family bible107 contains as the third entry on the births page: “Burchie N. Patton was borned April 16 1899 and 18 minuts weight 10 1/2 lbs”
The 1910 census recorded her middle initial as A. This may have been due to misunderstanding N, spoken aloud, as Ann.
The Michigan deaths database lists Birchie N. Johnson, born 16 Apr 1899, died 9 July 1991 in Caro, Tuscola Co., Michigan, residence Ohio.
