His death certificate records Richard Roberts, age 67 years 2 months 19 days, farmer, married, born 25 March 1852 in Ky, died 14 June 1919 in Carter Co., Ky, father Hiriam Roberts, mother’s maiden name Jane Flanery, both born in Ky, cause of death valvular heart disease with dropsy, informant Mrs. Richard Roberts, Soldier, Ky, burial in Caudill Cemetery, Enterprise, Ky.

This is not intended to be a complete family group. The couple is in my database only to record that the John Roberts who married Fanny Tackett is not the same person as the John Roberts who was the son of William Clark Roberts and Sarah Sorrell.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 11 as family #83/85:
Roberts, Richard, 25, farmer; Sarah, 22, wife; John Q., son, 1. All listed as born Ky Va Va, although that makes the parent’s birthplace fields inconsistent for the baby.
