A newspaper articile in the Ashland Daily Independent (clipping undated, 1904 or 1905) reported

“A family reunion and basket dinner was held at the home of Elias Bradley, near Brady, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Bradley and children, Mrs. Letitia Bradley and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. Paxton Davis and Miss Mary Coffey, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Trumbo, Mrs. Jno Proctor of this place and Mrs. Sarah Adkins of Elliottsville were among those who attended. Mr. Elias Bradley is 88 years of age and his wife is 86. They are among the oldest residents of this county and have seventy-five great-grand children and one great-great-grand child. They are the ancestors of some of the best families in the country.”

His gravestone has the date of death as Oct 8, 1908, but he was recorded as living in the 1910 census. So the gravestone must have been erected some years after his death, with whoever installed it remembering the year wrong. Given that, they may not have remembered the month and day right either. But he does not appear in the death records, which began consistent recording in 1911, so he probably really died in Oct 1910.

In 1910 he was listed in Rowan Co. as age 94, grandfather, with the famly of John Winkleman age 25 and wife Effie (Patton), age 22. He was really a grandfather-in-law to John, since Effie was the daughter of Mary Bradley and Alexander Patton.

The inscription on her gravestone is weathered. The last digit of the death year could be a 2, 3 or 8.

This is not a complete family group. There are nine children to this family.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 7, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 7 as family #51/53:
Bradley, Elias, 63, farmer; Louanna, 58, wife; Angeline, 28, dau; Alexander, 20, son; May, 12, dau. All born Ky Ky Ky.
