The Alex Patton family bible107 contains as the first entry on the births list “Alexander Patten was bornd Sp the 4 1863”
His death certificate records Elik Patton, age 65 years 10 months 14 days, born 4 Sep 1871 in Rowan Co., died 18 July 1927 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, occupation oil man, father Charlie Patton, born in West Virginia, mother’s maiden name Nancie Million, birth place don’t know, cause of death train struck automobile - killed instantly, informant Mrs. Steve Caudill, burial in Lee Cemetery, Morehead, Ky.
The reported birthdate conflicts with that on his gravestone and the family bible.

Notes for Mary Bradley
Her gravestone, a double one with her second husband Andrew Jack Wright, gives her name as Mary Wright and her birthdate as 20 July 1866. There is no death date on it, and I cannot find her in the Kentucky death records, so she may not actually be buried there.
She was recorded in the 1870 census as age 2 and in the 1880 census as age 12, so the 1866 birthdate is probably off by a year.
Be careful not to confuse her with Mary A. Bradley (29 Dec 1868 - 25 Mar 1920), daughter of George Wesley Bradley and Louanna Gearhart, who married William Sheridan Moore.
She was recorded in the 1870 census as age 2 and in the 1880 census as age 12, so the 1866 birthdate is probably off by a year.
