She is listed in all the censuses as Lutitia (or some spelling variation), but in the birth records of all her children as Bee. Most likely her middle name was Belle or Beatrice or some other name that begins with B, and she became known by her middle initial.

She was listed in 1900 with Hiram and Sarah (Lee) Purvis as Loutisia Purvis, granddau, 5, b. July 1894, and in 1910 with her mother as Lutitia, dau, age 14. In 1920 she is listed with her mother and Harrison Padgett as Lutitia Padgett, age 24.
