Notes for Nancy Clark
Her reported age varies so widely (28 in the 1850 census, both 42 and 55 in the 1860 census, where the family is listed twice, 45 in the 1870 census, 64 in the 1880 census) that it problematic what to enter as her birthdate. I am splitting the implied range of 1805 to 1825 down the middle and entering 1815, but the variation could be as much as 10 years.
Notes for Hiram & Nancy (Family)
This family is mainly in my database because I have two lines of Ingram ancestry, so they may turn out to be connected somehow, although I do not know how yet. The trouble is that there were already a large number of Ingrams in the Bath Co. area by the early 1800’s, and it is hard to find out how they were related to each other.
Census
See notes for Hiram’s first marriage for the 1830 and 1840 census readings.

1850 census of Fleming Co., Ky, division 2, recorded 14 Aug, lists on p. 8 as family #49:
Hiram Ingham, 45; Nancy, 28; Louisa, 20; Jesse, 18; Hiram, 16; Abram, 13; James, 11; John Henry, 9; George, 7; Hugh, 6; Sarah Ann, 4; Mary Jane, 1. All born in Kentucky.

This family is listed twice in the 1860 census, with small variations.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville precinct, enumerated 27 July, lists on p. 140 as family #1001:
Nancy Ingram, 42, farmer; Abram, 25, farm hand; John, 21; George, 18; Hugh, 17; Sarah, 13; Mary, 12; Armelia, 11; William, 5/12; Melbourne, 5/12 (m). All born in Kentucky.

Note that Armelia, who appears here as age 11, does not appear at all in the 1850 census. She is probably the same as the daughter Milly age 9 in the other record below. Neighbors are Thomas Shrout at #1000 and Milton Cassity at #1002.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville precinct, enumerated 11 Aug, lists on p. 223 as family #1621:
Nancy Ingram, 55, farmer; Abram, 22, farm hand; John, 21; George, 18; Hugh, 14; Sarah, 13; Mary, 12; Milly, 9; William Cara, 6/12; Melvinia, 6/12. All born in Kentucky.

Neighbors are Ralls Jones at #1620 and Silvester Gray at #1622.

Considering Nancy’s age, Henry’s absence from this census, and the large age gap between Milly and William, it is possible that the twins are adopted. But Melvinia is listed as Nancy’s daughter in 1880.

1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, White Sulphur precinct, enumerated 14 June, lists on p. 32 as family #222:
Ingram, Nancy, 45, farmer; Amelia, 19; Melvina, 13. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The preceding household is headed by George W. Teal and Mary Jane Ingram, and Sarah Ingram is living with them.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 17 as family #134/150:
Ingram, Nancy, 64, widowed; Sarah, 35, dau, single; Melvina, 19, dau, single; William G., 7, grandson. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The next two households are headed by Nancy’s sons George and Hugh.
