Notes for Mildred Armelia “Milly” Ingram
Her gravestone gives her death date as Jan 11, 1892, and identifies her as Mildred wife of J. N. Frisby, which conflicts somewhat with the marriage record for James and his second wife Louisa on 2 Jan 1892.
Either James and Mildred were divorced and then she died shortly thereafter (which is unlikely considering that her stone identifies her as his wife), or there is an error on the gravestone. Gravestones are often installed a considerable time after death, and whoever ordered the inscription for Mildred may have got her date of death wrong.
She was doubly recorded in the 1860 census (the whole family of Hiram Ingram and Nancy Clark was recorded twice), once as Armelia age 12 and once as Milly age 9. She does not, however, appear in the 1850 census at all. So it is likely that she was really born in May 1851, or else some later month than May in 1850.
Notes for James Newton & Mildred Armelia “Milly” (Family)
James and Mildred had 9 children. I am not entering them into my database unless either I discover the connection of Mildred Ingram to my Ingram lines, or I find some of their descendants marrying cousins of mine.
