Notes for Maude M. Royse
The Kentucky birth index lists Maudie L. Florince, born 19 Nov 1911 in Rowan Co., mother’s maiden name Lulie Rayce. This is the original certificate. There is also a revised certificate, filed in 1943, for Maude M. Manning, born 18 Nov 1911 in Breathitt Co. (a misindexing of Rowan Co.11), mother’s maiden name Lulu Royse.
In the 1920 census she is listed with her mother’s parents as Maude Royse, age 8, daughter, although it should be granddaughter. “Florince” seems highly unlikely to be a misreading of Coldiron, suggesting that Maude’s father is not Lulie’s husband Robert Coldiron.

In 1940 she and a newborn baby were listed with her mother’s sister Addie, incorrectly recorded as age 23 (she was really 28):

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 24, p. 3, records the marriage of Orville Fouch, age 21, born in Ohio, residence Elliottsville, son of Roscoe and Vina Fouch, to Maude Royse, age 17, born in and resident of Rowan Co., daughter of Lula Royse Meadows, on 6 June 1928 in Elliottsville, Ky by Harvey Trent, witnesses Miss Opal Kendall and Miss Theo Kendall.
