In 1920 she was listed with her son George as Susan Bowling, 77, mother, widowed.

(There is probably another grandchild listed, because lines 49 and 50 are cropped from this census image on Ancestry.com. The top line on the next page is for a Jessie Bowling, age 17, listed as a wife, and the next household number on that page is 247/245, indicating that line 50 was apparently for Jessie’s husband, as head-of-household. From later census years, he was George W. Bowling. That leaves line 49 for another member of the family headed by Susan.)

Thomas Bowling is probably Missouri’s son. James and Susan had no sons who lived to adulthood but died before 100, and Missouri never married. Tom’s wife Kansas was the informant on Missouri’s death certificate, listing herself as Mrs. Tom Bowling, which would make sense if she was living with him.
