I actually do not have any proof that the Isaac Ferguson born ca 1877 who was the son of Thomas Ferguson and Nancy Jane Evans is the same person as the Isaac E. Ferguson who married Sarah Alice Pugh. It is basically just a process of elimination, since all the other Isaac Ferguson’s in Morgan Co. of the appropriate generation were known to have other middle names, and appear in the 1900 census either with their parents or with other spouses.

He probably died sometime between 1905 and 1908.

Her death certificate records Sarah Alice Ferguson, age 63 years 0 months 6 days, born 1 Jan 1878 in Kentucky, died 7 Jan 1941 in Index, Morgan Co., Ky, married, wife of Eli Ferguson, age 72, father William Pugh, mother’s maiden name Martha Nickell, both born in Kentucky, cause of death carcinoma of stomach, informant Bulah Elam, Index, Ky, burial in White Oak, Ky.

Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 2 Jan 1894 of Isaac E. Ferguson and Sarah Alice Pugh at J. L. Ferguson’s by John L. Fugett, witnesses Isaac Lee Ferguson and George W. Ferguson.

My only connection to this family is that their great granddaughter Priscilla Gail Elam married my 3rd cousin Donald Dewitt; I am mainly just entering them because there were four Isaac Fergusons in Morgan Co. born 1874 to 1877, and I want to be able to tell them apart.

I cannot find Isaac or Sarah in the 1900 census, either separately or together.
