Benjamin Rice, 45, b. Va; Matilda, 42, b. Va; Abdalla, 22; Thomas, 21; Eliza, 18; Elizabeth, 14; Juli Ann, 12; Polly, 10; William, 7; Samuel, 4; Harriett, 2. All children born in Kentucky.
The gender column for Abdalla says “fm”. For all the others, it says either f or m. So this may represent a correction.
1860 census of Boyd Co., Ky, Catlettsburg P.O., enumerated 20 July, lists on p. 87 as family #580:
Benjamin Rice, 54, farmer, b. Va; Matilda, 51, b. Tenn; William, 17; Samuel, 14; Harriet, 13; Margaret, 11; Elizabeth Wilson, 25, b. Penn.
The preceding household is headed by their daughter Nancy and her husband David Wilson. The birthplace of Penn suggests that this Elizabeth is David Wilson’s sister, not Benjamin and Matilda’s daughter, who was listed as 14 in 1850, but who would have a birthplace of Ky.
