His death certificate records I. J. Whitt, age 78 years 3 months 26 days, born 28 Aug 1841 in Tazewell Co., Va, died 15 Dec 1913 in Magoffin Co., Ky, marital status blank, father Mat Whitt, mother’s maiden name Rebeca Day, both born in Tazwell Co., Va, cause of death kidney trouble, informant Santford Whiteley, Pattan, burial in Harnnie Arnett.
This is the only record I’ve seen with a middle initial of J for Ingram; all others have B. Considering that his father’s full name was James Madison Whitt, perhaps his full name was Ingram James Buchanan Whitt. On the other hand, maybe the informant just made a mistake.
