It records Mitchell Black, age 52 years 3 months 21 days, born 18 Mar 1888 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 9 July 1940 in Rowan Co., Ky, residence same, occupation farmer, widowed, father Leander Black, mother’s maiden name Lizzie Pettit, both born in Rowan Co., cause of death myocarditis with left ventricular failure, informant Delbert Jones, Morehead, Ky, burial in Black Cemetery.

Her death certificate records Lissie Black, age 39 years 2 months, born 12 Dec 1900 in Elliott Co., Ky, died 7 March 1939 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of Mitchell Black, father Sambo Howard, mother’s maiden name Francis Brown, both born in Ky, cause of death myocarditis and nephritis, informant Mrs. Elbert Jones, Morehead, Ky.
