Lyons, age 74 years 7 months 2 days, born 7 Nov 1866, died 13 June 1941 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, husband of Sarah Lyons, father Thomas Lyons, mother’s maiden name Hester Wells, both born Menifee Co., Ky (although really Menifee was not formed until 1869), cause of death chronic myocarditis, informant Saral Lyons, burial in Brown Cemetery, Morehead.

Be careful not to confuse Sarah with her first cousin of the same age, daughter of James and Rinda, who was listed on the same page of the 1880 census, both as Sarrah age 6.

Her death certificate states Saral Elizabeth Lyons, age 69 years 7 months 29 days, born 20 Jan 1874 in Ky, died 19 Aug 1943 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, widow of T. F. Lyons, father Ben Wells, mother Lucinda Lawson, both born in Ky, cause of death intestinal carcinoma, informant Virgil Lyons, Olympia, Ky.

The spelling “Saral” seems not to be an error; she signed the death certificate of her husband the same way.

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 4 April, lists on p. 1A as family #2:
Lyons, Turner F., 64, age at first marriage 24, minister, Church of God; Sarah E., wife, 56, age at first marriage 16, both born Ky Ky Ky.

The preceding household is that of their daughter Nora and her husband Cecil Purvis.
