1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville precinct, enumerated 23 July, lists on p. 125 as family #900:
Thos J. Lyons, 22, farmer, b. Ky; Hester Ann, 21, b. Va.
The preceding household is headed by Thomas’s father and stepmother.
1870 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Dry Ridge precinct, Rock House P.O., enumerated 28 June, lists on p. 3 as family #15:
Lyons, T. J., 32, farmer; Hester, 30; John, 10; George, 6; Turner, 4; Mary, 1. All born in Kentucky.
The next household is headed by Hester’s brother Benjamin Wells age 24 with his wife Emily. Their parents Richard and Sarah are living with him.
1880 census of Menifee Co, Ky, Ridge precinct, enumerated 16 June, lists on p. 43 as family #854/373:
Lyons, Thomas, 42, farmer; Hester A., 38, wife; John R., 19, son; George W., 16, son; Gilson, son, 12; Elizabeth, 9, dau; Turner, 7, son. All born Ky Ky Ky.
It is odd that the son after George, who was in 1870 recorded as Turner, is here called “Gilson”, with a younger son Turner age 7. Later records show Turner born in Nov 1866, and Gilson born Nov 1871. Apparently the census taker just swapped the names. Their son Robert is also mysteriously missing - he should be listed as age 3 (if they are being sticklers about the rules to report the age as of June 1) or age 4 (his age on the visit date.)

Feb 1881, married 1 year, mother of 1 child, 0 living; Floyd F., son-in-law, 24, b. Feb 1876, Va Va Va; Elgen B., grandson, 6/12, b. Jan 1900, Ky Va Ky.
The “0 living” children for Sarah Spence seems odd, since judging by the number of years married one would assume she was the mother of Elgin B. Spence. The preceding household is headed by Thomas and Hester’s son Gilson P. Lyons, age 28, b. Nov 1871.
