Morgan Co., Ky birth records list John Morgan, born 29 Dec 1855, father Wilson Fraley, mother’s maiden name Precila Fultz.

Either the name Morgan is a recording error, or they later changed their minds, since as an adult he was known as Mason or Mace.

He was probably named after John Calvin Mason (1802-1865), a popular Kentucky politician.

Her brother Harvey “Dutch” Trent's 1952 obituary listed two surviving sisters, Ellen Fraley and Mrs. Tye Pettit, both of Yager, W. Va. (I have a picture of Tye and Ellen as old women standing together outside a house. Ellen is holding a pipe.)

Rowan Co. marriage book 3, p. 62, records marriage on 4 Jun 1898 of John C. M. Fraley, 39, farmer, residence Elliottville, born Rowan Co., father born W Va, to Ellen Kegley, 24, residence Elliottville, born and parents born in W. Va, surety by William N. Porter, no return. It is listed as the 2nd marriage for John, and the 3rd for Ellen.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hoggtown precinct, p. 241A, lists as family #190:
Fraley, Mason, 41, b. 1859; Ellen, wife, 25, b. Aug 1874; married 2 years, mother of 3 children, 2 living; Mollie, dau, 3, b. 1897. All born Ky Ky Ky.

(This is a joint household, #187. It also contains family #189, headed by Priscilla Fraley. The age and birthdate for Mason are inconsistent with the 1860 census, where he is listed as age 3, with a younger brother James age 1.)

I am pretty sure that Mollie here is also the granddaughter who was listed as Mollie Trent with Ellen’s parents the same year. Although she was born before Ellen and Mace were married, she was listed as a full sister in the obituary of Mace and Ellen’s daughter Tye.
