In 1870 she was listed in Elliott Co., Ky, precinct 1, p. 12, as Tabitha Gray, age 19, domestic servant, with the family of Calvin Goodwin age 51 and wife Elizabeth age 47.

Census
1880 census of Rowan Co., KY, Morehead precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 7 as family #54/56:
Porter, Daniel, 39; Tabitha E., 28, wife; Sarah A., 9, daughter; Julia E., 9, step-daughter; Mollie, 5, daughter; Joseph F., son, 3; Nancy J., 7/12, b. Nov. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The age for Daniel is so far off from what would be implied by earlier censuses for Daniel the son of William and Rebecca (who was listed as 17 in 1850, 26 in 1860, and 36 in 1870, which would predict an age of 46 or 47 in 1880) that at first glance this would appear to be a different Daniel Porter.
But in 1900 and 1910 the Daniel Porter with wife Tabitha has returned to the ages consistent with earlier censuses, making 1880 the odd man out. And there is no other Daniel Porter family who would fit.
All of the children who were with the family of Daniel Porter and Mary Conn in 1870 are distributed in different households in Elliott Co. in 1880.

Aug 1884; Lewis T., son, 12, b. Jan 1888; Joseph F., son, 22, b. Jan 1878; Rice, Samuel, servant, 12, b. Feb 1888. All except Daniel Sr & Tabitha born Ky Ky Ky.
I suspect most of the birthdates in this entry are incorrect. The one for Nancy J. certainly is, since she cannot have been born after the 1880 census was taken, when she was listed as age 7 months born in Nov. But I am using them in the absence of other evidence.

Porter, Daniel B., 76, b. Ky Va Va; Tabitha A., wife, 60, b. Ky Va Va, second marriage for both, married 43 years, mother of 8 children, 5 living; John D., son, 22; Thurman, son, 20; Conn, Millard F., lodger, 19. The three youths all born Ky Ky Ky.
