1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 19 May, lists on p. 19A as family #333/336:
Parson, George, 30, farmer; Delia, wife, 21, first marriage for both, married 6 years, mother of 1 child, 1 living; Bide, son, 4. Porter, Albert, cousin, 18, farm laborer; Lizzie, cousin, 9; Willie, cousin, 7. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The Porters are children of James Porter and Celia A. Parsons (sister of Ferdinand.) The preceding household is headed by George’s brother Alfred, listed as Alford Parson age 24 with wife Mary (nee Hamilton).

Ellen was also listed as single, though, and as a Butler, so it is possible that they were not married, although it would be unusual for a child born out of wedlock in 1930 to be given his father's surname. Most likely they divorced before the child was even born, and went back to calling themselves single.
