Census Notes for Harrison & Lydia A. (Family)
I cannot find this family in 1850 or 1860.
1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, White Sulfur prec., enumerated 13 June, lists on p. 19 as family #129:
Harrison Riddle, 49; Lidia, 39; Hemeretta, 18; Mary A., 14; Nancy, 12; James, 10; Jno, 8; Charlotta B., 3; Mary H. 6/12. All born in Ky.
(This census does not record relationships. Since two living daughters named Mary would be very odd, the baby may be a granddaughter of Harrison and Lydia.)
1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, Wyoming prec., enumerated 3 June, lists on p. 5 family #41/42:
Harrison Riddle, 58, b. Ky Va Va; Lyda A., 50, wife, b. Ky Ky Ky; Charlotte B., 12, daughter, b. Ky Ky Ky.
Living in the same house but with her own family number (#41/43) is Harrison and Lydia’s widowed daughter Mary, with her three Goodpaster children.
The household above is the household of Sennet Goodpaster and Margaret Naylor, whose daughter Alphoretta later married Harrison and Lydia’s son John Mason Riddle. The household after Mary (Riddle) Goodpaster, at #42/44, is the family of James W. Goodpaster who is married to Harrison and Lydia’s daughter Henrietta.
