Her death certificate records Clara Stamper, age 78 years 2 months 7 days, born 4 Feb 1872 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 11 April 1950 at home in Salt Lick, Bath Co., Ky, usual residence Blaze, Morgan Co., Ky, widowed, father unknown, mother’s maiden name Manda McClurg, cause of death broncho pneumonia, contributory cause advanced arteriosclerosisi, informant Sam Hunt, Salt Lick, Ky.

The date of birth is probably off by one year. She was listed as age 9 in the 1880 census, and if she were born in 1872, she would have been only 12 at the time of her first marriage, to Simon Link.

Only Carmie is a joint child of Carter and Clarinda. Sarah E. is the daughter of Clarinda and her first husband Simon Link. Hulda is the daughter of Carter Stamper and his first wife Mary Perry.

Flora may be a daughter of Clarinda as well (if so, she would account for the third living child, together with Sarah and Carmie, but I do not know who her father would be, since Simon had already remarried to Belle Porter by May 1889), or she may be a daughter of Carter and Mary, although that would raise the question of why Carter would keep both Huldah and the baby Flora, but send Minnie who was one year older than Flora to be raised by Mary’s sister Huldah.
