Notes for John William M. Jones
In the 1870 census, he is listed as John, age 2 months, born in April, but all later records list him as William. His middle initial is listed as J on the 1900 census, but as M on the 1910 and 1920 censuses. His gravestone also records his name as W. M. Jones.
The Kentucky death index lists William Jones, age 84, died 6 June 1954 in Rowan Co., residence same.
The Kentucky death index lists Mary L. Jones, age 95, died 12 Apr 1968 in Rowan Co., residence same.
Notes for John William M. & Mary “Lou” (Family)
Rowan County marriage book 2, p. 10, records license issued 27 Nov 1889 for William Jones and Lou Hall, consent given by John Hall for “my girl”, bond surety by James B. Jones.
Rowan County Marriage Register, Book A, p. 27, records marriage of William Jones and Lou Hall on 2 Nov 1889 at John M. Hall's by W. T. Hall, witnesses Clark Roberts and Sarah Roberts.
One of the dates must be incorrect, as I doubt very much that the license was issued 25 days after the marriage took place.

(This is next door to the family of James Boyd Jones.) The months of birth mostly do not match those given in obituaries, social security records, etc.
3, but the years seem fairly accurate.
The boarder Jessie Foster is the son of Milt Foster and Emily Ellen Jones. (Emily Ellen Jones was a great aunt of William J. Jones. So although Jessie is 10 years younger than William, he is the first cousin of William’s father.) The boarder Dora Foster is the daughter of Samuel Foster and Barbra A. Jones (William’s sister.)
